I wouldn't suggest it for a last minute New Year's Eve party dress, but more for chic, sophisticated, and fun looks that you can wear out for a nice dinner. Stumbled across Sweeney Todd's Barbershop? So fitting considering Jersey Girl has been playing nonstop on tv... I've never watched Sweeney Todd but maybe that's an idea for sitting at home with my sisters and a cup of hot chocolate this winter break. While the sun happens to be brightly shining on my face, I've had difficulty trying to avoid the cold. I pulled out this coat my sister discarded at home and was able to manage. An odd color, but odd enough that I feel it'll go with anything. NY in early January is bringing a bit of apprehension.. I'm not well-versed in dressing for extremely cold temperatures. I will be coordinating a photo shoot tomorrow in Marina Del Rey for a client's spring/summer line. Hopefully it's sunny and we can totally fake a fun-in-the-sun look while the model is covered in goosebumps. 4 days 'till my sisters come home~

The Calm Before the Storm

RVCA shorts | UO python oxfords Apparently, in addition to the current incessant rain, there are the possibility of thunderstorms. I'm pretty sure those who live in four season climates will scoff at the idea of what southern californians refer to as a "storm" in general, but nonetheless, that is the forecast. I had to cut this top after multiple washes pretty much ruined any workable shape. Thus, I just cut down the middle and tied the ends together. These shorts are pretty much the sole item purchased on Black Friday apart from nail polish remover. Perfect for taking a stroll down to the weekly neighborhood farmer's market where I sample fruits as dessert and occasionally buy random produce...My mom simply calls this weekly routine good exercise.

Sunny and Shade

F21 sweater and trousers | UO heels | Target belt Despite the finger-numbing weather, I can always find some sun in California. I know it isn't snowing, but it is still quite cold. I've generally been stuck in a slouched seated position due to studying for finals. I'm more sick of studying than I am stressed. Any opportunity to test some lighting equipment is thus a sure thing of excitement and reason to take a break. I have fallen in love with this sweater from F21, and I forgive it for making me look flatter, after a second look at these photos. I've had these pants forever...and as long as I prevent the straps from falling into any water, they make me happy and comfortable.

Indicating the importance of dressing impeccably classy..brilliant. On the other hand, maybe I steer a bit from classy because I think that pleated gold slinky dress is somewhat alluring to my taste.

Happy Birthday to My Lovely Sisters

It's my sisters' birthday today! Thank you for all the laughter, insanity, companionship, and love. I can't wait for you guys to hurry home so we can make some guacamole...Additionally, I have to show you my sweet potato plant~ Oh, and equally excited for going back to NYC with ya'lls. Great Park

F21 sweater | Uniqlo jean leggings | LF Stores shearling poncho jacket | UO slouch beanie Took the opportunity of the past long weekend to venture outside of Los Angeles. Lo' and behold, we were in the distant Orange County. After seeing a site featuring free hot air balloon rides at Great Park in Irvine, I was sold! You have to sign-up for a time slot, and unfortunately, by the time we got there, all the slots were already full! Thus, I resorted to amusing myself with the medley of entertainment... like the huge bike rack, merry-go-round, and checkerboard road with huge palm trees. And likewise, took photos with all of the above. On a sidenote: while enduring these high winds causing stress-worthy traffic, noisy nights, and power outages, I was quite excited to find the impossible to reach avocados from our tree, on our lawn!
