Pink on Pink

American Eagle striped xl sweater | Abercrombie pink shorts | Kenneth Cole studded ankle boots

On our way to MOCA/Pacific Design Center last weekend, we had to stop by the Paul Smith store and this bubble gum pink wall. Additionally, stopped by a random purse and clothing store which was located beyond this garden party decor path. Isn't it adorable? As mentioned, no photos allowed even on the premises at the Pacific Design Center so compromised with a shot from across the street. Finished the day off with Umami Burger and allllll the condiments. Delicious but a little too small! Got these cute pink shorts while shopping for some t-shirts for a friend to take to his nieces in Korea...and these boots were a steal at only $15~16 dollars at the outlet on my way back from Palm Springs a few weekends back. Looking forward to a wedding tomorrow and hoping to create some priceless escapades with my girlfriends.

Purple Rain

Vintage Evan Piccone velvet blazer | Primark purple tights | F21 top | H&M lace up heels

Just when I was putting together warm spring outfits in my head, I have been forced to pull my coats off the hanger again. I'm hoping this is early April showers... This jacket has been in my closet for over 15years. I believe my mom had me wear it as an oversized blazer when I was young... I hated it back then, but loving it now. Spent the weekend dreading the rain. But I did end up going to the MOCA at the Pacific Design Center to see the Rodarte Exhibit! (Beware: the rest of my post may have plot killing details for the movie Black Swan) The tutu's were absolutely gorgeous. There is a black section and a white section. The white section even had the final tutu from the movie with the blood on it. Although we were prohibited from taking any photos (both in and around the museum) we managed to take one by the fountain before we were notified of those rules. Pictures to come soon!

St. Patrick's Day

Calvin Klein shirt / Furst Premium Jeans from LF Stores / F21 nude heels / UO sheer socks

In light of St. Patrick's Day, I realized I don't really own any green colored clothes. I'll have to withstand the pinching. But I brought some green into this post. My mom picked up this shirt for me... and although you can't really tell from the picture, it's actually a silky rather than cottony fabric. On a sidenote, it almost seems surreal when reading about the extent of the disaster in Japan, and the fears of radiation exposure... I somewhat feel guilty posting trivial superficial photos of myself. I am definitely blessed. I've concluded that being grateful for what I have is that much more important. My prayers go out to those in Japan.

Weekend Mini-Diary Sans Camera

F21 skinny jeans and tank / H&M nylon jacket / Ash knock-offs

The only complaint I have about my weekend was that it was too short and camera-less. My camera decided it would pick this weekend to display the incessant "mode dial is not in proper position." I had an always nonstop talkathon dinner with the girls at Drago on Friday night which ended with wine, cheese, and karaoke at one of their houses. Despite their health code safety rule about bringing in outside food (the cake), the food was almost up to par with out usual fave Italian place, Colori Kitchen. Palm Springs meant nonstop playtime with my little cousin who we ooh'ed and ahh'ed over all weekend. In the evening, we went to a casino in the middle of nowhere which seemed to be a packed little city all in its own. Rather than trying to decide which machines and tables were calling my name, it was more like trying to find anywhere that had a seat. Sunday was spent at the outlets on our way home. Endless hours of shopping with nothing to buy. Depressing. But I still ended up with some new Converse and Kenneth Cole ankle boots that were $16.00 after a million discounted sales. Will post soon. These photos were prior to the weekend... I love these bright jeans... can't wait to find more in maybe bright yellow.

P.S. Check out my cousin's amazing art skills on his blog (listed under my faves - abang). Or here! He is blessed with so much talent.

Hitting the Weekend

F21 top; DIY cut off shorts; F21 laced boots;
Perfect weather days like this is a constant reminder of why I love southern California. Having Porto's for lunch and deciding I want to buy a new sunblock makes it even more enjoyable. Despite dreading thoughts about going back to school, I'm looking forward to dinner tonight with my girls and palm springs for the weekend. This top is cropped just wrong which is what made it so intriguing. Usually I shy away from tops that decide to stop right where your jeans start... used to be awkward. But somehow, this one worked out.

Mid Break

F21 colorblock top; Zara shorts; Dolce Vita chained ankle boots from LF Stores; Christian Dior vintage sunglasses; Energy bracelet/watch

I've recently got hooked on this new Xtreme Energy Bracelet craze (also worn by Kobe Bryant). After seeing a brief demo from a friend at school, and an even longer more intriguing demo at the mall, the bf and I each bought one. And I must say, I definitely feel more balanced and confident in running up and down stairs in 4inch heels without the fear of toppling over. I will probably be doing demos for all my friends. Although these Dolce Vita boots appear ridiculously high and heavy, they are surprisingly more comfortable and easy to walk in than you would think. I can't believe my spring break is nearly halfway over. It barely begun. Well, looking forward to a friend's birthday dinner this Friday (Happy Birthday Amy!) and Palm Springs with the fam this weekend. Hope it stays warm~

Angels Flight and Downtown

French Connection buttoned top; Zara pants; Clarks boat shoes; American Eagle striped scarf; Christian Dior vintage sunglasses

Officially on spring break. Although I debated the whole ultimate mtv wild-a-thon (not really), I settled on kicking it off by seeing the Rodarte Exhibition at MOCA (they even have the original Black Swan costumes). After convincing the bf that it was going to be really interesting and will create nostalgic art school college days for him, to my defeated surprise, there are apparently three different MOCA locations. It's probably clear that I went to the wrong one...only realizing it after we got tickets, and frantically trying to find the exhibit on the brochure map thing while walking around. My only lucky break was that the museum happened to be free that day. The one we needed to go to was in West Hollywood, so unfortunately, neither one of us felt like driving all the way there after all the parking searching we did. Thus, we took a bunch of pictures and reevaluated how crazy big buildings are. We even got on the Angels Flight for just a shocking quarter. The last and only time I ever rode that was back in 8th grade during a random tour of Los Angeles- history type field trip. Memories.
