"Safe after dark and beautiful to behold"

Gap cropped khaki jacket; F21 gray tee; UO straight leg boyfriend jeans; Remi and Reid studded purse; my lovely sister + snow

The iconic engagement photo spot created by Chris Burden at LACMA. Despite the numerous drive-bys and backdrop for pre-wedding couples, this was my first time actually stepping foot onto the light installation itself. The sunset and lighting had set itself up for some downtime outdoor photos which slowly led us to pull over at LACMA after some tasty dumplings at Myung Dong Kyoja on Wilshire Blvd. I love the fit of these boyfriend jeans and how they were white pants dyed gray, which gives it an interesting look at the seams, especially when I sit or bend. Further, I am unamused and not a slight bit pleased with the unexpected rainfall yesterday. But I guess it beats the snow my sister is experiencing in NY.

Say Panda

LF Stores cropped "say panda" t-shirt; Remi and Reid studded bucket bag; F21 suspender trousers; UO cardigan; Ash wedge tennis shoes (knock-offs)

A pretty uneventful weekend. After having the bf substitute my ancient computer for a faster usable one, I headed for an oil change that had been put off for a few weeks. Then headed over to Americana which was only a few blocks from there. We had some tasty yet not-surprisingly overpriced crepes and I was excited to see the close to ready new Sephora...although disappointed that I won't be there this Friday for the grand opening due to class to see Josie Maran and obtain a gift card with a potential $100 in it. The cropped t-shirt was a cute find from LF stores... c'mon, a panda with a camera. I have been waiting for these shoes for the past few weeks to come in the mail. These Ash wedges have been sold out everywhere. Lucky for me, I found some exquisite knock-offs on ebay obviously for a quarter of the price...despite the efforts I took in writing my law review paper on copyrighting fashion. But they're almost equally as pretty and comfortable. Sometimes, you just happily take what you can get.

Sunshiney Day

Zara slouchy top; DIY cut off shorts; Jeffrey Campbell booties from LF Stores; Remi and Reid purse from LF Stores; Bracelet- gift from Brazil

After going to Les Pommettes blow-out bin sale, the fab weather prompted some walking along Robertson Blvd. Despite the numerous sales, I failed to find something that I really liked. My good ol' Jeffrey Campbell shoes were perfect for comfort (and complimented my new bracelet from Carol) and I just can't get over the style and color of this Remi and Reid purse. Anyway, what I did discover was my new favorite burger/sandwich/pizza place! It's called The Oaks Gourmet~ We had the old aged burger, Ultimate BLT, and goat cheese artichoke pizza! Seriously, it was delicious. I haven't found a place that so intimately chooses their cheeses to compliment all the other ingredients. What's more, their beer and wine collection was both intriguing and extensive (keeps the bf occupied while waiting for the food)... They even have a chilling station for your wine. With Coolhaus ice cream and Milk ice cream in their freezers and healthy juice shake options... this place will be frequented.

P.S. Check out a photo posted of my hair here. Why I am called a tourist is unbeknownst to me... I blame it either on the bf's unpinpointable accent or the incessant photo-taking along Robertson Blvd. Haha.

Another Day

Michael Kors cardigan; Hollister long sleeve; Cotton On maxi dress; Target belt

I am overjoyed with the newfound 80degree January weather. It has me already fathoming minimal fabric summer must-haves... I'm over the winter sales already. Unfortunately, wanting to be outside has put my studies in the back-burner. This past weekend, I had my first taste of Carmella Ice Cream which my sister helps out with as her foodie hobby. They just opened an official shop in Pasadena (unfortunately not in Oldtown)... but wow. The flavors are all fresh and handmade. The mint, is not your usual pepperminty flavor, but infused from actual mint leaves. The waffle cones are made on location throughout the day and the dark chocolate is made with the actual cocoa beans prior to being made into chocolate. Definitely up to par with New Zealand Natural. On a sidenote, can't wait to equally indulge my tastebuds with  DineLA Restaurant Week.

Friday Friday Friday

Furst Denim from LF Stores; H&M fur scarf; Banana Republic belt; F21 coat

Random photos after a late night of winter break reading... I guess I had a last minute burst of energy or just excited to finish. Surprisingly, I haven't found enough ways to make the fur scarf as versatile and outfit enhancing as it should... and now that warm weather is slowly creeping up, it may take the back-burner for a while. My classes have been fairly enjoyable, which has made the stress levels decrease. Still, I'm craving to slip into loose tank tops and shorts... without tights and layers. Can't wait for Bicycle+Gogi tonight with the girls!

My Cute House

Hooded Corduroy Jacket; H&M dress; UO socks; F21 nude heels

I'm finally completely settled into our new place. After hanging the hammock my sister got from Chile, building two display bookshelves from Ikea, and finding a spot for the elliptical machine, photos were the next step. I love the freedom of winter break... sigh. This corduroy jacket was my mom's from way back when. Super comfy and warm. My hair color is obviously getting brighter as it's washing out... I'm debating whether to just cut it off or redo the color for one last time. This semester, I'm hoping to still squeeze in some regular blog posting. Spring break, I'm already ready for you.

On the Strip

JCrew top; UO Levi's high waisted sequin shorts; F21 laced boots; DVF sunglasses

Despite our failure to make it to Vegas for nye, I managed to fit in a make-shift 24hour trip the day after Christmas. Arrived around 2:30am, exhausted yet awake enough for some roulette and bloody marys. We ventured around the strip and even off the strip to some nearby casino/hotel that had steak specials for $6.99. Didn't win any money although I tried my luck with Village People Party penny slots for quite a while. It seemed promising when I sat down. Enjoyed the usual fountain show at the Bellagio, walked the canals of Venetian, and basked in the "ding ding ding dinging" sounds every time we walked near or into the casino area. Doesn't it make you want to go to Vegas?
Oh yes... Happy Birthday, to my dearest photog and bf!

Beer, Onion Ring Towers, and Apple Pie Crumble

ArynK top; Evan Piccone velvet blazer; Urban Outfitters leather backpack

Our NYE was spent with half yards at Yardhouse...after a flop with our vegas plans, it was our low key location for the countdown. Can't believe it's 2011.
