Tea and Cupcakes

Forever21 knit vest; Urban Outfitters silk flowy blouse; LF Stores knee high boots

Due to a shortage of tea and an uncontrollable desire for gourmet cupcakes, I found myself in Oldtown Pasadena a few weeks back. Got my fix of BirdPick and Dots Cupcakes and was quite elated. The knit sweater thing is utterly warm despite its lack of full sleeves and I love these way the boots refrain from slouching down like other ones. It was quite hectic this past weekend due to moving into a new place. But now that I've settled in and finished organizing my clothes and junk, finals are around the corner. Hence, I find myself looking for a Thanksgiving weekend distraction big enough to avoid studying before the real stress kicks in. Any ideas? Happy Thanksgiving!

Oranges, Reds, and Yellows

Zara jacket; Fluxus scarf; Cotton On maxi dress; Urban Outfitter tee; Forever 21 lace up boots

Witnessing a rather "insert cliche adjective" sunset over the weekend required pulling out the camera and testing various flash, aperture, and other forgotten photographic lingo. I can't figure out if it's the lingering autumn clouds or the fab los angeles smog that produces these sunsets. Maybe a combo of both.
I got the Cotton On dress a while back without trying it on, only to realize that it falls at a slightly awkward length on  my body... a little too short for a maxi dress but too long to be calf-length. Thus, I folded over the straps to create a long skirt which has become such a staple with this unpredictable fall weather. The Fluxus scarf has been an equally convenient accessory...which I got for free just for signing up for their Fluxus membership card several months back during a promo they had when I was roaming around Larchmont. On a side note, I must check out a new churro joint that I read opened up in Santa Monica~ Has anyone been there yet?

Sample Sale and New Zealand Ice Cream

Urban Outfitters cardigan; Cotton On sheer blouse; Furst Premium jeans from LF Stores; LF Stores clogs

What better way to spend a Saturday than basking in pretty clothing at a sample sale and enticing my tastebuds with ice cream right after. The ArynK sample sale was well worth the visit...with more than enough stuff to put me over my budget. And as always, New Zealand Ice Cream fails to disappoint me. How I love thee. And they are always so nice about letting me try almost every single flavor before making a strenuous decision.
The jeans from LF Stores is the perfect fit and such nice quality that despite numerous washes, the color is still actually black... maybe it's my detergent. I got the blouse on sale at Cotton On for cheap and is perfect for throwing on during warmer weather or layering under something thicker during the current colder ones. I still cannot believe it's already November. My mouth is already watering for stuffing and creamed corn with cranberry sauce.

Twas' the Night Before Halloween

Sanctuary vest; UO tank; H&M floral tights; Report clogs from LF Stores; Free People tote; F21 braided headband

We failed to pull together any sort of organized Halloween entertainment and resorted to make-shift scrambling of a costume and headed out to downtown LA already close to midnight. We had to cross JLounge off the list of possibilities after realizing the cover charge. After aimlessly driving around for parking in lack of any prospective ideas, we miraculously found a spot on the street which pretty much dictated where we would go. Thus, resulting to aimless walking, photos of scary store windows, and gawking at ridiculous costumes. Somehow, we ended up walking down a prettily lit street which reminded me of San Francisco and found ourselves right in front of good ol' Bar 107. Took advantage of the Pabst beer and black-and-white photo booth once again, and ended the night without any wildly embarrassing stories.

Yummy Martinis?

Zara tunic top and shorts; knee high boots from LF Stores

Photos from a few weeks back (sorry for the slightly poor picture quality) when I went to Lola's thanks to a bloomspot coupon. Though I anticipated somewhere new that I've never been, I was pleasantly reminded when walking in that I had been there years before with my girlfriends due to their famous martinis (and recalled the photo of us posing with our martinis still on facebook). The bf ordered the Star F*cking Martini, and I'm guessing he just ordered it because vulgar drink names apparently amuses males. The food was okay, but the dessert would have me running back there again. Caramelized rum dipped warm bananas with vanilla bean ice cream and strawberries. Yes. Is your mouth watering? I love these boots but never had a chance to wear them until now. LF stores often times carry the greatest selection of shoes, boots, sandals, etc. Anyway, got to run off to class... but photos of Halloween non-debauchery to come.
